Our People - Malcolm Allen, Principal Advisor

Malcolm is a qualified accountant and holder of a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Southern Queensland. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ® professional and a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA – Specialist in Professional Financial Planning).

Malcolm gained a wealth of experience as a public and commercial accountant having spent a number of his earlier years acting as Tax Accountant and Financial Advisor to a large and successful family group who had considerable pastoral and manufacturing interests in Australia.

Immediately prior to commencing in practice as a Financial Planner, he was Company Secretary and General Manager, Finance Division, for the family Group Holding Company. This Group included a significant number of subsidiary companies involved in manufacturing and sales on a national basis.

Malcolm is a Member of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants and the Financial Planning Association of Australia having been Chairman of the local Branch Chapter for a number of years.

With over twenty years of experience in Financial Planning, he would be regarded as one of the more experienced Advisers in the industry. He specialises in providing comprehensive strategic planning and portfolio management advice to successful wealth accumulators and retirees.

In order to service his client's with utmost effectiveness, Malcolm keeps up to date with continuing professional development.

On a number of occasions, Malcolm has attended Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway Annual General Meeting in Omaha Nebraska USA as he has a particular interest in Warren Buffet’s successful investment philosophies. Whilst on these trips, he has visited leading financial institutions in the United States of America to keep up to date with what is happening in overseas markets.

He has been a partner in the Toowoomba practice for over 20 years and he is a Director of Byron Capital Pty Ltd.

His Academic and Professional Qualifications are:

• Associate and Certified Practising Accountant - Member of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants (CPA – Specialist in Professional Financial Planning);
